Nortrax Inc., a John Deere company with dealerships throughout the U.S. and Canada, has appointed James “Jim” Fodi as Vice President, Nortrax Quebec. Jim will lead Nortrax Quebec with branch operations in Laval, Brossard, Amos, and newly acquired Nortrax locations in Ste-Agathe and Mont-Laurier.

Kongsberg Gallium has announced a name change. The Ottawa-based developer of real-time, mission critical, geospatial visualisation software has changed its name to Kongsberg Geospatial Ltd., effective immediately. The new name better aligns with its future strategy and focus on developing geospatial technology. President Ranald McGillis tells FrontLine that the ownership and staff will remain intact.

DND Promotions & Appointments
LGen Thibault will retire from service, handing over his VCDS responsibilities to VAdm Mark Norman who will assume his new VCDS duties on 05 August. RAdm Lloyd will be promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral and appointed Commander of the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) in a 22 June ceremony. RAdm Couturier will be appointed Deputy Commander RCN, at NDHQ. Cmdre McDonald will be promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral and appointed Commander of Maritime Forces Pacific, in Esquimalt, B.C. Capt(N) Donovan will be ­promoted to the rank of Commodore and appointed Director General Naval Force Development (DGNFD), in Ottawa.

LGen Marquis Hainse will be appointed Canadian Military Representative at NATO Headquarters, in Brussels, Belgium, replacing VAdm Davidson who will retire from service. MGen Wynnyk will be promoted to the rank of LGen and appointed Commander of the Canadian Army. RAdm Ellis will be appointed Commander of CFINTCOM. RAdm Bishop will be appointed Deputy ­Commander Canadian Joint Operations Command (CJOC). MGen Joyce will be appointed Director General International Security Policy (DGIS Pol). BGen Eyre will be promoted to the rank of MGen and appt’d Deputy Commander Military Personnel Command. BGen Hetherington will be appt’d Cdr of 3 Canadian Division, Edmonton. Col Gagne will be promoted to the rank of BGen and appt’d Deputy Commander of 18 Airborne Corps, Fort Bragg.

BGen Lavoie will be promoted to the rank of Major-General and appointed Commander 1 Canadian Division, in Kingston, replacing MGen Milner who will retire from service. BGen Anderson will be appointed Director General Defence Force Planning. Col McPherson will be promoted to the rank of BGen and appointed Pentagon Liaison Officer, in Washington.

BGen Thomas will be appointed Canadian Defence Attaché, in London, UK, replacing BGen Overton who will retire.

BGen Cadden will be appt’d Commander of 4 Canadian Div, Toronto. BGen Macaulay will be promoted to the substantive rank of Brigadier-General and appointed Director General Land Capability Development. Col Smith will be promoted to the rank of BGen and appointed Chief of Staff Combined Forces Land Component Command Iraq (COS CFLCC-I).

Cmdre Watson will be appointed Director General Compensation and Benefits, replacing BGen Matheson who will be retiring. Cmdre Cantelon will be appointed Director General Morale and Welfare Services. Col Ermel will be promoted to the rank of BGen and appointed Director General Capability and Structure Integration.

MGen Milne will be seconded to the Department of Veterans Affairs (VAC), replacing BGen Jorgensen who will retire.

MGen Wheeler will be appoint­ed lead for the Canadian Armed Forces Targeting Implementation Initiative at NDHQ. BGen Drouin will be promoted to the rank of MGen and appt’d Commander 1 Canadian Air Division, in Winnipeg. Capt(N) Topshee will be promoted to the rank of Cmdre and appt’d NORAD J5, in Colorado Springs.

BGen Seymour will be promoted to the rank of MGen and appointed Chief of Staff Operations at CJOC, in Ottawa. Col Leblanc will be promoted to the rank of BGen and appt’d to Deputy J3 U.S. Pacific Command, in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. BGen Rouleau will be promoted to the rank of Major-General and remain Commander of Canadian Special Operations Forces Command. Cmdre Edmundson will be appt’d Commander Combined Task Force – 150, in Bahrain. BGen Lafaut will be appointed Director General Military Careers at MPC, in Ottawa. BGen Gosselin will be appointed Commander 2 Canadian Division, in Montreal. Col Carignan will be promoted to the rank of Brigadier-General and appointed Canadian Army Chief of Staff Land Operations. BGen Dawe will be appointed to a new position as Deputy Commander CANSOFCOM. Col Bourgon will be promoted to the rank of Brigadier-General and appointed DG Operations at Strategic Joint Staff. BGen Pelletier will be appt’d to Op Foundation, Roto 16, as Combined Aerospace Ops Center Director in Qatar. BGen Ormsby will be appt’d to Deputy Commander Continental U.S. North American Aerospace Defence Command Region NORAD, in Florida. BGen Brennan will be appt’d Joint Task Force Commander for Operation Impact, Rotation 3, replacing BGen Irvine. BGen Chagnon will be appointed to a new position as Deputy Chief of Staff Operations, at CJOC. Col T.J. Cadieu was promoted to the rank of BGen and will be appointed to Op Proteus. BGen Girard will be appointed as Permanent ­Representative Mission New York with the UN, in New York. Col Benson will be promoted to the rank of BGen and appt’d Director General Land Equipment Program Management (DGLEPM), in Gatineau, Que., replacing BGen Kennedy who retired in 2015. Col Delaney will be promoted to the rank of BGenand will remain Canadian Forces Provost Marshal. RAdm E.M. Stuart, previously announced to retire in 2015, will retire in 2016.
