DEW Engineering’s 40 year history attests to its success in designing, testing, manufacturing and delivering a broad range of armour and defence equipment from its plants in Ottawa, Ontario and Miramichi, New Brunswick. Expertise developed for the home market is now being exploited in key export markets. As a Canadian company, its products are completely ITAR free, which helps its export business.

DEW is the largest manufacturer of advanced composite armour systems in North America. They specialize in designing optimized protection solutions, testing using its in-house ballistic range, and manufacturing custom vehicle armour and protection products for military and police use.

With a focus on quality, DEW delivers defence equipment across a broad front that covers the land, marine and aviation sectors. Land equipment includes combat support and combat service support vehicle and trailer systems, shelters and camp systems, CBRN defence systems, and bridge and gap crossing systems. Naval equipment includes containerized mission system kits, weapon mounts, countermeasure launchers, towers and masts, cranes, launch and recovery systems, cradles, stairs, ladders and rails, and winches and buoys. Aviation equipment includes weapon mounts, containerized mission systems kits, as well as pallets and containers, ground support equipment, and preconditioned air systems. DEW also provides training and training systems, and comprehensive in-service support for all of its lines.

In 2018, DEW won the Atlantic Canada Aerospace & Defence Association (ACADA) Industry Excellence Recognition Award for Business Development Distinction thanks to an outstanding team of highly trained and experienced personnel, each playing key roles in safely delivering quality products with integrity and at the best cost.
