Some recent leadership changes in industry and government include:

Dwayne Charette has been appointed President of Airbus Helicopters Canada Limited, in addition to his role as Chief Operating Officer. He succeeds Romain Trapp, who has assumed the role of President of Airbus Helicopters Inc. and Head of the North America Region for helicopters.

Mr. Charette's vast experience within Airbus includes working for the Canadian helicopter division for 16 years. During this time, he has held a variety of positions, including Director of Global Supply Chain and Manufacturing, as well as Head of North America Regionalization for Airbus’ helicopter division.

Tim Page retired from his position as VP, Government Relations at Seaspan Shipyards on June 14th. Tim sent an open letter to all of Seaspan’s workforce, wishing them “success, good health and a confident future.” He went on to affirm that “The work we do in Victoria and Vancouver is vital to Canada’s maritime interests.”

Mr. Page had joined Seaspan in August 2014, after having led the Canadian Association of Defence and Security Industries for just over 9 years.

John Turner is set to join Seaspan Shipyards as Vice President, Government Relations, on 19 August 2019.  He will be based out of Seaspan’s Ottawa office, which opened in May of this year, and will be responsible for the day-to-day management of Seaspan Shipyards relationships with the federal and B.C. provincial governments.

“It is important that we have a person of John’s experience and calibre based in Ottawa to facilitate and further strengthen our relationship, engagement and communication with our Federal Government customers,” said Mark Lamarre, Chief Executive Officer, Seaspan Shipyards.

Mr. Turner’s appointment follows changes to Seaspan’s senior leadership over the past 12 months, including appointments of Mark Lamarre as Chief Executive Officer, Jari Anttila as Chief Operating Officer, John McCarthy as Chief Program Officer and Tony Winter as Vice President, Project Delivery.

Mr. Turner joins Seaspan from Newfoundland and Labrador based PAL Aerospace where he has worked since April 2017, first in the role as Vice President Operations and more recently as Senior Vice President Business Development. Prior to that, Mr. Turner served as Associate Deputy Minister (Feb 2015 to Mar 2017) and Assistant Deputy Minister (Materiel) (Dec 2012 to Feb 2015) at DND.

Sherry Colville has recently been promoted to Senior Director Integrated Solutions and Sustainment at Lockheed Martin Canada.
