Military and commercial users alike depend on intelligent and secure communications for various key requirements such as:
  • robust data links and assured navigation;
  • missionized systems for specialized aircraft and spacecraft;
  • collaborative ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance;
  • simulation and training systems;
  • mechanical systems; and
  • advanced interior solutions.
Collins Aeropsace, now a company of Raytheon Technologies Corporation (RTX), remains focused on delivering solutions to military, government and civilian customers to successfully complete their most complex and critical missions. Delivering support to all services of the CAF and DND, the company is committed to develop and deliver a “more connected battlespace”.

This commitment is exemplified by on-going investment and collaboration with Canadian firms and research institutions across the country for the development, production and support of advanced avionics, landing gears, and communication systems. The combined company employs more than 1500 Canadians with key facilities in Ottawa (Mission Systems), Oakville (Landing Gears), Winnipeg (Interiors), and Montreal (Avionics).

The flexibility and customization of products are seen as key advantages, allowing the company to exceed the requirements of a growing base of commercial and military customers in Canada. Innovation continues to enhance its capabilities, providing systems and operational solutions while leveraging domestic product lines, support capabilities and communications engineering expertise.

From the Ottawa office, the Collins team remains an industry leader in the development and deployment of Wide band HF communication systems, as well as the wireless, ad-hoc networking technologies for both Canada and global export.

Collins is also an active leader in helping to promote and facilitate an economic recovery plan for the Canadian Aerospace Industry Association Canada (AIAC). That includes major investments in green technologies for Sustainable Aviation, Autonomous Systems and Mobility, Advanced Manufacturing, and enhanced Work Integrated Learning opportunities.

Collins will continue to support the MINDS program and seek other opportunities under the IDEaS program to further advance Connected Battlespace concepts and technologies demonstrations in support of the Canadian Army’s C4ISR Modernization (SSE initiative #42) and NORAD Modernization projects.
