As acting CDS, Lieutenant-General Wayne Eyre has just announced additions to the 2021 list of Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) General and Flag Officer senior appointments and promotions.

Industry veteran Steve duMont, most recently with Raytheon where he oversaw its intelligence and space business sectors, is the new president of GM Defense. The former U.S. Army helicopter pilot also has held senior positions with BAE Systems and Boeing.

Eighteen appointees by former President Donald Trump to U.S. military academy boards have been asked to resign or face dismissal. The decision to purge them, mostly appointed in the dying days of Trump’s administration, was confirmed Sept. 8 by President Joe Biden’s press secretary, who said “the president's qualification requirements . . . whether you're qualified to serve and whether you are aligned with the values of this administration.”
