Halifax, Nova Scotia (September 8, 2015) - The 2015 edition of the Canadian Aerospace Defence and Security Exhibition Atlantic (DEFSEC Atlantic) will be held on September 9th and 10th at the Cunard Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Over 100 exhibition booth spaces will feature companies, from around the Atlantic Region and the world, who will display their capabilities to hundreds more attendees from industry, academia and government to explore partnership potential in the vast supply chain opportunities in the defence procurement sector.

The annual event features major Prime Contractors for a variety of major defence procurement projects including Irving Shipbuilding, Lockheed Martin Canada and General Dynamics - Mission Systems Canada. There are a number of industry presentations taking place ranging from highlighting of a number of regional Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to some of the Primes looking to develop their supply chain initiatives. Wide ranging regional participation by over two hundred Atlantic Canadian businesses who all want to participate in the long term projects is evident with a record number of over a thousand attendees pre-registered.

DEFSEC Atlantic is one of Canada's largest events of its kind and along with the floor exhibition, it features panel discussions on relevant subjects to educate and engage the attendees. This year’s panels and government & partner presentations cover the topics of: Defence Procurement, Canada's Arctic Development, Industrial and Technological Benefits and why Aboriginal Engagement Makes Good Business Sense. It is an inclusive event that seeks to promote partnerships between Atlantic Canadian business and the World.

Premier Brian Gallant of New Brunswick opened the Event on Tuesday evening and thousands of meetings will ensue until Thursday afternoon. This is fertile ground for an important regional industry sector. Supported by the Atlantic Alliance of Aerospace and Defence Associations of Atlantic Canada and its members, DEFSEC Atlantic continues to serve as the key event in the region’s industry calendar.
