Please join us for the official unveiling of Canada's first Memorial LAV at 2 pm on Wednesday, 22 June at the Oromocto cenotaph, followed by a reception at the Hazen Centre.

As you may know, #MakeFrederictonFirst campaign won the national competition sponsored by Canada Company, and the Fredericton Region was selected as home for the first LAV Memorial in Canada. The 8 wheeled LAV (Light Armoured Vehicle) was the work horse of our troops overseas, and TV footage made it the symbol of our troops service and sacrifice.

We should all be proud of our combined efforts to #MakeFrederictonFirst that won us this national competition, and have given New Brunswick the high honour to be home to the first LAV Memorial in Canada. This memorial will stand forever in respectful recognition of the sacrifice made by so many of our troops and their families. It is very fitting that this first LAV memorial will stand so close to Base Gagetown, where many of our troops conducted their training.

Regimental, Association or Legion dress with medals is encouraged. Please check out for more details.

Please spread the word! All are welcome to attend, especially the families of the fallen.
